Our heroes Right to left: Lee Badger, Ted Davis, Alan Ohwiler

It is our mission to proactively support organizations who are researching a way to slow down, prevent, and hopefully cure ALS as well as other community non-profits.  We will strive to stay committed to these causes and support the individuals and families who are affected by this disease.

Lee’s Cares Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 foundation established in 2015.  Its name is in memory of Lee Badger, the founder of Lee’s MarketPlace who tragically lost his life in 2009 after battling ALS for only one short year.

The foundation’s primary purpose is to help in finding a cure for ALS plus aiding families with the physical, emotional, and financial burdens that they face when struggling with this diagnosis.  It also supports other local non-profits such as The Family Place and Common Ground.

Lee’s Cares Foundation main fundraiser is hosting an annual ALS Golf Tournament each June.  The golf tournament has become the premier tournament in Northern Utah each summer.  The teams and sponsorships fill up quickly.  The majority of the proceeds from this event goes towards ALS research with the Brain Chemistry Labs located in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
